Monday, May 5, 2014 – Fear and Courage

Today, we have the Eight of Cups.

The emphasis is on courage. How badly do you want what you want?

Eights are related to Strength or Justice card depending on the deck. You may find that both interpretations fit. Strength is about strength and courage. The Justice card is about doing what’s right and true.

Do you have courage to be true to yourself? Sure you do!

In this particular card from the Bohemian Gothic Tarot, the girl motions towards a dark corridor as if to say, “Are you coming?”

There is a desire to follow her and go through the unlit corridor, if only out of curiosity. Are you willing to go through the dark (your fears) in order to get what you want?

In astrology, this would be described by your Mars function. With Saturn involved, you may fear what you want to pursue or fear getting what you want. It may even extend to fear of success. Sound familiar?

Do you have something you want to pursue but simultaneously have fears about? Did you overcome a fear? Tell us about it!

Thursday, we have the King of Wands.

This card seems to offer some respite and shift the focus off the chaotic energies over the last few days.

It reminds a person of hope, confidence, courage, passion, and action.

This is a cardinal card, and it reminds me of something E said about ‘scary’ Solar Returns. When given a chart like that, your options are to work with it and take the bull by the horns rather than get trampled.

How is the cardinal grand cross affecting you? Are you taking control or getting trampled?

Wednesday, we have the 9 of Swords.

Emotions run high today as the cardinal grand cross continues and the Moon in Taurus opposes Saturn in Scorpio. The friction can be expressed as paranoia or oppression. On the positive side, the Moon is in Taurus, offering the ability to stabilize one’s emotions.

There is a lot of strife in the sky, however there are little blessings as well, such as the Moon being exalted in Taurus. You can be caught up in the 9 of Swords mind-hell, or you can snap out of it and steer clear of the illusions created by anxiety.

How well do you fare when people around you are panicking? Are you the rock, or does the effect bleed into your psyche?

Tuesday, April 29, 2014 – Ennui

Tuesday, we have the 4 of Cups.

This is not necessarily a happy card. It often relates to boredom, stagnation of emotions, and ennui. It can even mean someone who feels stuck or trapped in an emotional mire. It can indicate someone who has a chip on their should, is stuck in the past, or drinks too much to numb their pain.

On the other hand, there is always a way out. In the RWS, this is depicted a cup offered from the sky. Even if you feel stuck in a deluge, there is way out. There is hope, even if you can’t see it.

Have you felt stuck like this sometimes? Did you get a “hand up”? Did you see it that was possible to get out from a quagmire?
