Thursday, January 23, 2014 – Indulgence and Restraint

Thursday, we have the 4 of Cups with the Moon in Libra.

The four of cups is often associated with boredom or ennui. In some decks, there is more emphasis on the imdulgence aspect. The figure is featured as drunk and would not like another drink.

Today will be like that. You could feel queasy or unease from too much of a good thing. It’s fun until you go overboard. Restraint is also depicted in some four of cups cards. The figure restrains themselves from taking another drink because they know they’ll be over there limit and regret it.

How do you feel today? Did you have to show restraint towards something you’d like to indulge in?

Wednesday, January 22, 2014 – Counting Your Blessings

Wednesday, we catch a break with the 10 of cups. The week is still busy with the Cardinal Grand Cross staying for months, but there is also some harmony.

This is the kind of day you might look on the positive side or count your blessings. There are things to be thankful for and sometimes people forget.

The Moon is in Virgo and Virgo is associated with daily tasks, chores, and work. This is a good time to take a break from your busy schedule and acknowledge what is good in your life, especially if you’re feeling negative or run down.

What are you thankful for?

Tuesday, January 21, 2014 – Aquarius

Today, we have the Fool.

The Fool is regarded as naive, young, and lacking experience.

It’s not all that bad to be innocent and naively optimistic. Sometimes, it serves a purpose and is done on purpose.

The Sun moves into independent Aquarius today. At first, it may seem at odds with the Fool, but there are some similarities. The Fool in a court is traditionally not subject to the same rules as everyone else. As a result, he was basically free to do whatever he pleased and joke about things others could not.

Will you fly your freak flag today? Is there an area of your life where you could free yourself?

Sunday, January 19, 2014 – Perspective

Sunday, we have the Wheel of Fortune.

Like to yesterday’s card, Justice, the Wheel of Fortune talks about karma, actions, and consequences. What goes around comes around.

The card also talks about cycles, opportunities, and luck. The Wheel of Fortune is related to Jupiter, which rules opportunities, optimism, vision, luck, (big) perspective, and the future.

Today, the emphasis is on taking the long view: seeing the big picture and seeing where you are in the big picture.

Perhaps, you are having a bad day or feeling lost. You’d be served by taking the long view. It’s just a drop in the bucket in the length of your life. Perhaps your experience serves a larger purpose.

Or, maybe you’re wrapped up in the details and stuck. Assessing where you are and coming up with a vision of where you want to be could be a step in the right direction.

Whatever situation you might be in, the advice for today is simple: keep the long view — the big picture — in mind.

Saturday, January 18, 2014 – Justice

Today, we have the Justice card.

I am reading Gavin De Becker’s The Gift of Fear, and I found it interesting that DNA is can be so influential. The book asked that you think about your roots, your blood, your childhood, and your motivations in order to understand yourself and others better.

The Justice card is all over this. Justice is about cause and effect. In this case, I thought about the effects of the previous generation on the next on the next and so forth. And then there you are in the present! The result of generations of cause and effects.

The next layer of Justice is the duality, the polarity, the two sides of the story. Do you project a part of yourself you do not accept onto someone else? Do you blame others for your own issues? Are there parts of yourself you have in common with those you wish to distance yourself from? Is it your face staring back at you?

Another layer is the responsibility aspect. Accepting all parts of yourself, taking responsibility, and exercising free will to choose your actions, whatever situation you’ve been through.

Lastly, Justice reminds us that all our actions have consequences. Karma. If you do something, there is a result. Back to the beginning: cause and effect.

Do you think about these kind of things? Where did your train of though lead you? Do you see the Justice card in your life?
